Residue Denver at EDGE Gallery

EDGE Gallery
May 25th – June 17th
Performances happen every Friday, 6-10pm

Residue Denver is a juried show, presenting a month long extravaganza of varied and exciting performance art. Each Friday evening will feature five to six artists who represent the finest performance artists from Denver and beyond.

At the beginning of the show, performance specific, unaltered objects will be installed in the gallery. Through each performance the artist will use and interact with the objects, leaving a different sculptural remain, changing the environment of the gallery as the show progresses, and capturing the essence of the events that occurred.

By showcasing performance art, Residue is adding a unique element to the Denver art scene.

We gladly accept donations of unicorns.

Curatorial Statement:
Two unlikely friends, a unicorn and a cat are spending time together in the sparkly gardens. The unicorn, with its big, deep brown eyes is calmly looking towards the cat, while the cat has it’s paw gently placed on the unicorns nose. A touching moment to behold.

Open Call for Entries: Performance Art

Residue at EDGE Gallery: This is a free, juried show open to anyone. We are looking for interesting, edgy, and exciting performance art to showcase something radically different than what is normally found in Denver galleries. The only requirement is that the performances create an artifact, such as a sculpture, an installation or a series of objects with new contexts and qualities made evident via your performance. Performances can be very short, or span multiple weeks. As the show progresses, the gallery will become an increasingly immersive environment filled with the residue of past performances, capturing the energy of the unique events that occurred.

Performances will happen every Friday evening, 6-10 PM, through the duration of the show (May 25th to June 17th).

EDGE Gallery is located at: 3658 Navajo Street, Denver, CO 80211

Please be aware that you will be performing around the residue of past performances.

EDGE takes a 30% commission on each sale.

We are excited to present this opportunity and to provide the space for something truly unique in the Denver art scene.
